Aeroflot Group has ordered 339 aircraft, including 210 of the Irkut MC-21 aircraft that will become the flagship of the company’s fleet. The airline will also operate Superjet aircraft. The delivery of the first six MC-21s is planned from 2024, with the rest delivering out to 2030.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, the Russian state will subsidise the purchase of imported versions of aircraft, fixing the delivery price for airlines so that carriers do not experience additional financial burden.
Director General of Rostec State Corporation Sergey Chemezov said that all aircraft will be delivered in an imported form - with on-board systems and units of Russian production.
Local media reports appear to confirm that the Russia government will provide its airlines with another 50.6 billion roubles ($810 million) of emergency support. These funds will be in addition to the 100 billion rouble that expires in October. Aeroflot is thought to be the largest beneficiary of the new funds.
