Pemba Airport closes runway after Airlink wet excursion

Airlink flight 4Z 204 on the ERJ135 aircraft was involved in a wet runway excursion upon landing at Pemba Airport, Mozambique, resulting in the runway being closed. The aircraft had aquaplaned off the runway and Airlink is waiting for it to be retrieved with a recovery team.

Mozambique’s Directorate of Air Accident Investigations will conduct the formal investigation into the occurrence, to which Airlink will provide all necessary assistance.

All 32 passengers and three crew were evacuated safely without injuries.
