Abu Dhabi Airports reported a 13.1% increase in passenger traffic for the first half of 2025, marking its 17th consecutive quarter of double-digit growth.

Between January and June, the airport operator handled over 15.8 million passengers across its five airports.

Zayed International Airport accounted for 15.5 million of those, up 13.2% from the same period in 2024. Total flight movements rose 9.2% to 133,533, while the airport recorded 93,858 aircraft movements, an 11.4% increase.

“The first six months of this year have posed some operational challenges, yet our exceptional mid-year results demonstrate the resilience of our network,” said Elena Sorlini, managing director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports.

The operator added 16 new destinations during the first half, including routes operated by China Eastern Airlines, Air Seychelles, and Fly Cham.

Cargo volumes reached 344,795 tonnes, driven by infrastructure investments and new partnerships. Notably, Abu Dhabi Airports signed a joint venture with JD Property, part of China’s JD.com, to build a 70,000 sqm logistics facility serving growing e-commerce flows between Asia and the Middle East.

Abu Dhabi Airports said it will continue investing in network expansion, infrastructure, and sustainable innovation to support the emirate’s trade, tourism, and diversification goals.
