HAESL, a joint venture company between Rolls-Royce plc and the HAECO Group, celebrated an important landmark in July 2021, having tested 5,000 Rolls-Royce engines since the company’s inception in 1997. This follows another major milestone achieved earlier in the year with HAESL having completed repair and overhaul work on 150 Trent XWB engines since capability was launched in 2017.
The “5,000 engine” celebration event took place on 28th July 2021 in HAESL’s facility in Hong Kong, which has recently been expanded to provide for a larger footprint to handle the increasing volume of XWB engines. Senior representatives from Cathay Pacific, Rolls-Royce, HAECO and the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department attended the ceremony to celebrate the event with the HAESL team.
Richard Sell, Chief Executive Officer of HAESL, in his speech at the ceremony, said: “The growth and success of HAESL would not have been possible without the hard work and unfailing commitment of our dedicated and experienced staff. I would also like to thank Cathay Pacific, Rolls-Royce, HAECO, and the Civil Aviation Department for their significant support over the last 24 years. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has materially impacted the aviation industry, we remain confident in the future growth prospects for HAESL and plan to expand over time to meet market demand and to remain our customers’ MRO partner of choice.”
