Air India has commenced the construction of its new 35-acre maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility at Bangalore International Airport. The facility is set to make the airline group “self-reliant” in its aircraft maintenance operations in the region as it continues to modernise its fleet and expand global operations. In a LinkedIn post, Air India said the facility will be a major boost to India’s aviation sector whilst also creating new jobs for the region. The facility is part of a partnership with SIA Engineering Company.
