United Airlines have become the first carrier to purchase sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for use at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD). SAF producer Neste will provide up to one million gallons of SAF to the airline at ORD this year with the first supply arriving in August. “While the market for SAF is still in its infancy, there is a huge opportunity today for airlines and policymakers to work together to support its continued growth,” said United president Brett Hart. The US based carrier has a goal of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. United has now purchased SAF
