Spirit Airlines is set to launch flights from Birmingham Shuttlesworth international airport this October, this will be the first time the low-cost carrier will serve the state of Alabama. “Our new daily service will make flying to Fort Lauderdale more accessible and will provide an attractive alternative to driving. It will also make it easier for our Florida Guests to enjoy Birmingham’s southern hospitality,” said John Kirby, vice president of network planning at Spirit. The service will commence on October 10, 2024.
