London Heathrow topped aviation analytics provider Cirium’s list of Europe’s busiest airports for 2022, with Paris Charles de Gaulle coming in second. The ranking, by available seat kilometres (ASKs), underlines Heathrow’s importance to long-haul markets, Cirium said, as it maintained its position atop the list despite its ASKs coming in 24% below what was recorded for 2019. Istanbul Airport was third position, with the city’s second airport Gökçen also featuring along with the hub at Turkish resort town Antalya.
