Contract workers for CBRE have voted in favour of strike action at Airbus’ sites in Broughton, Wales and Filton, Bristol, the union representing them Unite said on September 2, 2024. Around 140 maintenance and cleaning workers are contracted by CBRE at these sites. Unite said workers were striking over low pay. Unite claimed: “Strike action will severely impact cleaning and maintenance at both sites and cause disruption to Airbus’ operations.” However, a CBRE spokesperson argued: “The action taking place involves a relatively small number of CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) employees who deliver services at Airbus’ Broughton and Filton sites.”
