Yakutia Airlines’ CEO, Olga Fedorova, has confirmed to Russia media that it will receive RUB800 million (US$10.57 million) in state subsidies from the local government. The airline, which operates three 737-800s, one 757-200F, two Dash 8-300s, three Q400s, and two SSJ 100-95s, needs to money to cover its annual leasing costs. The carrier also plans to increase its share capital and attract a strategic investor to help repair its financial health, while also seeking to negotiate with Sukhoi Civil Aircraft to restructure its outstanding debt.
