XL Airways extends operation suspension; former Aigle Azur shareholder offers investment

XL Airways is extending its suspension period as it seeks desperate investment with French media speculating that former Aigle Azur shareholder Lu Azur is offering a €30 million ($33 million) cash injection to the struggling airline.

This offer has come under some scrutiny though as Aigle Azur collapsed last month.

XL Airways halted operations on 30 September originally stating that it would resume on 3 October.

This suspension is now set to continue until 7 October because a final commercial Bobigny court decision on the company's future has been postponed until 4 October.

The French carrier, based at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, operates a fleet made up of three Airbus A330-200s and one A330-300.
