Xiamen Airlines chooses AFI KLM E&M GEnx Engines Support

AFI KLM E&M and Xiamen Airlines have finalized an agreement organizing support for the GEnx-1B74/75 engines equipping the Chinese airline’s fleet of Boeing 787-9s, which will ultimately cover a total of six aircraft.

AFI KLM E&M already provides Component and Engines Support for the carrier’s six 787-8s. The new contract will cover shop visits and the maintenance and spare engine access to guarantee the availability of Xiamen Airlines ‘787-9’ fleet and the seamless continuity of its operations. The maintenance will be performed at AFI KLM E&M’s GEnx center of excellence in Amsterdam.

Cai Chengbao, Xiamen Airlines Executive Vice President, further emphasized: "the quality of the relationship that has grown up in recent years between our two Groups. Around the ideas of trust and partnership, AFI KLM E&M and Xiamen Airlines have forged solid ties, which are now being strengthened with the signing of the latest agreement."

Executive Vice President AIR FRANCE KLM Engineering & Maintenance, Anne Brachet said: "we are proud to further extend the strong partnership our two groups already enjoy. Such a deal with a major 787 fleet operator proves once again AFI KLM E&M’s unique expertise and competitiveness regarding new-generation aircraft maintenance."
