Ryanair considers Helsinki route

Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary has indicated that the low-cost carrier could be flying to Helsinki within a year so long as it can reach a deal with Finavia.

"It's a bit expensive, but I think they’re coming around to the realisation that Finnair are going to keep cutting traffic and they need to broaden their customer base because there are no low fares airlines up in Helsinki," said O'Leary at a press conference.

Ryanair currently flies to Tampere and Lappeenranta, while easyJet cancelled its Helsinki route in 2011.
