Wizz Air: Traffic and Co2 emission statistics for July
Wizz Air has seen a decrease in the total number of passengers carried in July this year, when compared to the same month in 2023. Wizz carried a total of 5,944,305 passengers in the month of July this year, that’s down 1.4% from 6,028,939 in the same month of last year. “Operated capacity during the month was down 0.3% year on year due to the impact of the GTF engine-related groundings, carrying 5.9 million passengers at a load factor of 93.8%,” said the airline. Along with traffic figures, Wizz also published Co2 emission statistics for the month which show an overall reduction of Co2 emitted, from 523,996 tonnes down to 522,661 tonnes.  However, despite an overall reduction in emissions, RPK emissions saw an increase by 2.3% in comparison to July 2023. The airline added: “RPK emission increased by 2.3% year on year to 51.8 grams, due to the suboptimal fleet mix (older aircraft and lower gauge) resulting from the GTF engine-related grounding of the efficient A321 neo fleet.”
