WFW advises Elyse Energy on €120 million fundraising; GDHF on finance agreement for acquisition of H160 helicopters

Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) advised sustainable fuels and low-carbon raw materials producer Elyse Energy on the due diligence and project aspects of a €120 million fundraising.

The fundraising was granted to Elyse Energy by Hy24, PGGM, Bpifrance and Mirova. The financing allows the company to accelerate the development of its sustainable e-methanol and aviation fuel projects in France and Spain.

The WFW Paris team that advised Elyse Energy was led by regulatory and public law partner Laurent Battoue.

He commented: “The deployment of infrastructure for the production and distribution of e-methanol and sustainable aviation fuels is essential for more sustainable transport and fully in line with WFW’s commitment to the energy, infrastructure, transport sectors and, from a general standpoint, the energy transition.”

The firm had also advised GD Helicopter Finance (GDHF) on a €77 million finance agreement with Bank of China, London Branch and Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thuringen, supported by Bpifrance Assurance Export for the acquisition of new Airbus H160 helicopters. The helicopters are scheduled to be delivered between 2024 and 2026.

GDHF plans to grow its portfolio of new technology helicopter via orderbooks and lease to customers globally.
