WFW advises Banco BPM on financing for SkyAlps fleet

Legal advisory firm Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) has advised Italian bank Banco BPM, the lender, arranger and hedging bank on a loan granted to Italian airline SkyAlps, to finance the purchase of up to eight aircraft.

The €25 million loan will be structured in three tranches, with the first used to partially finance the acquisition of six of the eight de Havilland Dash-8 Q400 turboprop aircraft already delivered to SkyAlps. The second and third tranches will be used in a similar fashion for the remaining two aircraft.

The multidisciplinary WFW Italy team that advised Banco BPM was led by Assets & Structured Finance Partner Michele Autuori, working closely with Senior Associate Antonella Barbarito, Associate Beatrice D’Amato and Trainee Anna Palomba on finance law. Aviation law expertise was provided by Aviation Of Counsel Matteo Castioni and Senior Associate Alessandro Di Carlo, legal due diligence advice came from Corporate Senior Associate Roberta Sturiale and Trainee Fabiola Longoni, and tax advice was provided by Senior Associate Alfredo Guacci Esposito.

SkyAlps commenced operations in 2021.
