Mexican low cost airline Volaris has reported a net income of $112 million for the fourth quarter of 2023, up from its $22 million loss year-on-year (YoY). Its total operating revenue was up 9.6% to $899 million in the fourth quarter. Earnings per share were at ten cents in the fourth quarter.
""Throughout 2023, we gained valuable lessons when resizing the operations, capitalising on strong demand while adjusting our network, and turned a very complex situation into a solid financial result for the fourth quarter,"" said Volaris president and CEO Enrique Beltranena.
Its full year net income was at $8 million, up from its net loss of $80 million in 2022. Its total operating revenue for the year was $3.3bn, up 14.5% from $2.8bn in 2022.
Beltranena added: ""Looking ahead, 2024 holds promise, as our booking curves and total unit revenues indicate continuing favorable trends aligned with our guidance.""
