Volaris has reported its September 2025 passenger traffic.
The Mexican low-cost airline flew 2.4 million passengers in the month, up 2.4% compared to September 2024. This was comprised of 1.8 million domestic passengers, up 2.8%, and 614,000 international passengers, up 1.2%.
“Volaris maintained a steady and well-balanced network, proactively managing the delayed delivery of two A321neo aircraft and continuing close coordination on engine availability,” said Enrique Beltranena, president and CEO of Volaris.
The airline's capacity was up 2.9%, with domestic capacity up 2.4% and international up 3.7%. Load factor was down 1.6 percentage points to 83.4%. International load factor was down 3.5 points to 76%, while domestic load factor was down 0.2 percentage points to 88.8%.
"Domestic demand remained stable in a balanced supply environment, while international traffic showed resilience, with forward bookings indicating encouraging signs of VFR [visiting friends and relatives] recovery in the cross-border market," Beltranena said.
Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) improved 1% overall, with domestic up 2.2%, while international was down 0.9%.
Beltranena added that the airline's traffic performance aligned with its projections, and that he remains “cautiously optimistic” that market conditions will continue to improve towards the end of the year.
