Virgin Atlantic has confirmed its order for seven A330-900 aircraft.
“Today, we complete our multi-billion-dollar fleet transformation, with the purchase of seven additional A330-900s, which we know our customers and our people love to fly,” said Shai Weiss, CEO, Virgin Atlantic.
“Virgin Atlantic has flown more than 60 Airbus tails in the last three decades. While not first to the party, they’ve been our main dance partner, making our customers smile ever since.”
This order build on the airlines initial A330neo order made in 2019, taking the airlines fleet of the next generation aircraft to a total of 19.
The seven new aircraft will be delivered from 2027, meaning that by 2028, the airline will operate a mixed fleet of 45 next generation aircraft with an average age of 6.4 years.
