Virgin Atlantic design and development engineer Alice Goodwin has been selected by the UK Government as one of its ten aviation ambassadors. The ambassadors will work to inspire the next generation of aviators.
"These Ambassadors will help to attract even more innovation and creativity to the industry, showcasing the opportunities available in this exciting new era of new technology and decarbonisation," said aviation minister Anthony Browne.
Over the two year programme run by the Department for Transport, the ambassadors will serve as mentors and advocates, attending schools, mentoring events and workshops to showcase their experience and encourage young people to apply their skills in the aviation industry.
"Aviation engineering is a dynamic and interesting industry, full of passionate and inspiring individuals," said Goodwin. "I am really looking forward to being an ambassador and having the platform to showcase the amazing opportunities available in our industry to young people."
Goodwin is already a mentor to young people at various aviation organisations. In her current role, she is responsible for fleet maintenance activities.
