Virgin Atlantic Cargo promotes Ryan Ellis to regional sales manager for continental Europe

Virgin Atlantic Cargo has promoted Ryan Ellis to the post of Regional Sales Manager, Continental Europe, to continue the airline’s strong sales performance in Europe.

Ryan joined Virgin Atlantic in 2010 as a Capacity Controller and in October of the same year was promoted to the cargo sales team as an Account Manager in the UK. He had previously worked for ANA Aviation at London Gatwick as a cargo operations executive and, earlier in his career, held customer services and operational positions with Air 2000, Northwest Airlines Cargo and First Choice Airways.

In his new post, Ryan reports to Steve Hughes, Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s Regional Vice President Sales for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, who said: “Ryan will spearhead our sales activity in the important area of Continental Europe and brings 12 years of air cargo knowledge to this role, including his experience in the charter and GSA sectors. As an Account Manager, he built strong relationships and achieved growth with key Virgin Atlantic customers, and I know that in his new role he is looking forward to working closely with customers in Continental Europe to open up new opportunities for them and for us.

“EMEA is our biggest single region and one where we see great opportunities to continue the growth we’ve achieved in the last 18 months. Our road transport network in northern Europe is helping customers quickly and easily access Virgin Atlantic’s network of over 350 cargo destinations worldwide, and our volumes are certainly benefiting from Virgin Atlantic’s reputation for fast connections through London and high customer service levels.”
