Vietjet reported the consolidated revenue of VNĐ29.77 trillion in the first half, up by 87% year-on-year and representing 120% of the H1 target. VietJet released its first six-month financial update (H1) with the total assets of VNĐ71.5 trillion while the debt/equity ratio and the liquidity ratio were 1.2 and 1.5 respectively.
Ancillary revenue maintained a high growth rate, reaching VNĐ9 trillion, a two-fold increase year-on-year and accounting for 40% of the total revenue. The airline reported consolidated after-tax profit at VNĐ387 billion.
Vietjet operated 65,900 flights, carried over 12.1 million passengers reporting a year-on-year increase of 30%. The airline carried about 3.5 million international passengers, more than half of the total 6.9 million international passengers to and from Vietnam
In Q2 2023, the airline opened 11 new international routes, including to Australia, Indonesia, and India, and expanded its network to 120 destinations. The network now covers 75 international and 45 domestic destinations, serviced by a fleet of 103 aircraft, including seven Airbus A330 widebodies.
The current narrowbody fleet is a mix of Airbus A320-200s, A321-200s, and A321neos. Vietjet also has more than 250 narrowbody aircraft on order, including Airbus A321neos and A321XLRs and Boeing 737 MAX 8s, and the higher capacity MAX 8-200.
