Vietjet and Honeywell enter a $1.1 billion cooperation agreement

Vietnamese carrier Vietjet and Honeywell Aerospace Technologies have exchanged a cooperation agreement to provide avionics and aviation technical services for Vietjet’s fleet.

The agreement – exchanged by Vietjet chief executive officer Dinh Viet Phuong and Joseph Vitulli, representative of Honeywell Aerospace Technologies – has been valued at $1.1 billion.

“Today’s agreement represents a new milestone in our long-standing partnership with Honeywell,” said Dinh Viet Phuong, Vietjet chief executive officer. “Honeywell's advanced technology will play a crucial role in helping us better serve our valued passengers with convenient, high-quality, safe, and eco-friendly flights while fostering sustainability in line with our ESG goals.”

The airline will implement Honeywell’s avionics and APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) maintenance programs on its new-generation wide-body A330neo and new narrow-body aircraft.

Joseph Vitulli, representative of Honeywell Aerospace Technologies added: “Honeywell has partnered with Vietjet for nearly a decade and will continue to support the airline in achieving its long-term goals while enhancing passengers’ flight experience.

He continued: “We have consistently succeeded in developing and implementing solutions to reduce carbon footprints, enabling airlines to optimize fuel consumption by analysing aircraft performance and sharing best practices across their operations.”

The agreement also includes Honeywell Flight Efficiency, a solution which will provide emission reduction and fuel-efficiency monitoring across Vietjet’s entire fleet of aircraft.
