Virtual Aviation (VA) has placed an order with Multi Pilot Simulations (MPS) for a new B737-800 fixed based simulator, which will be installed in November this year. The agreement also includes an option to buy a new Airbus A320 FTD1 simulator
from MPS, for delivery in the first half of 2018. The new equipment will enable VA to significantly increase its training capabilities as well as its simulator capacity.
In addition to meeting the growing demand for its MCC/JOC training, VA will be able to provide cost-effective Type Rating training and dry hire to its airline customers and training partners.
The latest-generation fixed based simulators are playing an increasingly valuable role in airline pilot training, with their high-fidelity and innovative features making it possible for airlines to reduce their reliance on full flight simulators.
