The four airlines chosen will be American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and United Airlines.

American Airlines has been tentatively awarded two slots, for service from Dallas/Fort Worth and Los Angeles - its second daily service to Haneda.

Meanwhile, Delta has received tentative approval for a Haneda service from Atlanta, Detroit, Honolulu, Portland (Oregon) and Seattle.

United Airlines received the go-ahead for proposed flights from Chicago O'Hare, Los Angeles, Newark and Washington Dulles.

Finally, Hawaiian Airlines gained the tentative approval for one additional daily roundtrip flight to Haneda from Honolulu.

The services are being put in place for the 2020 summer traffic season and in time for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
