United Airlines will restart operations to Tel Aviv on March 15, 2025, after an almost eight-month hiatus.
Initially re-commencing the service with one daily flight between the airline’s base in Newark and Tel Aviv, operations will increase on March 29, 2025, with the implementation of a second daily service.
This resumption follows what the airline described as a “detailed assessment” of operational considerations for the region and has worked closely with unions who represent the airline’s flight attendants and pilots.
United will become the first US carrier to resume flights to Israel this year, after airlines suspended services to the country in response to continued tensions between Israel, Hamas and Hezbollah. On January 19, 2025, an armistice deal to end the war in Gaza came into effect, bringing to an end 15-months of conflict.
Since then, airlines have made tentative steps to resume operations to Tel Aviv, with the Lufthansa Group, Wizz Air and Etihad all making a return to the city.
United confirmed that it will continue to evaluate opportunities to restore additional flights based on passenger demand.
Flights will be operated between Newark and Tel Aviv on the airline's 787-10 aircraft.
