Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) has announced that it carried 3.6 million passengers in the first nine months of 2015. This is 26% increase compared to the same period last year.
The airline has also posted a profit during the period of $12.54 million, reversing the $55.57 million operating loss from last year.
“Despite the fact effective demand of Ukraine's consumers decreased substantially, the UIA team makes every effort to boost operations, stimulate passenger demand for air transportation, and expand the geography both in Ukraine and beyond, UIA president Yuri Miroshnikov said. The airline's January-September 2015 performance allows us to launch new flights, increase frequencies on a number of routes, and prolong our summertime international flight program from the cities of Ukraine within the period of IATA winter schedule 2015-16.”
