Turkish Airlines has resumed operations to Syria, following a near 13-year suspension of flights to the country.
Re-commencing flights to Damascus on January 23, 2025, Turkish will operate three flights weekly between its Istanbul hub and the Syrian city. Many operators ceased flights to Syria, following the breakout of the Syrian Civil War.
Bilal Ekşi, CEO of Turkish Airlines, noted his “excitement” at the airline’s return to Syria: “We believe that the return of Turkish Airlines will further reinforce these bonds and contribute to trade and cultural potential of the region."
Flights between the two cities will be operated by Turkish’s A330-200 aircraft.
