TrueNoord has delivered two ATR72-600s to TACV Cabo Verde Airlines on long-term operating leases. The turboprops will be based at Praia International Airport on Santiago Island and mark the first of the aircraft type to join the operator's fleet.
“Intra-island connectivity is a geographic necessity and vital for the economy of the country, as it drives tourism, facilitates international trade and reconnection of the diaspora,” said TrueNoord sales director Maarten Grift. "The delivery of these ATRs will significantly increase CVAs ability to meet the country’s mobility needs.”
The lessor said it also expands its footprint in Africa “considerably”.
TACV Cabo Verde Airlines chairman and CEO Pedro Barros commented: "The lease of these two aircraft marks an important step for TACV Cabo Verde Airlines, better positioning us to enhance connectivity across our island nation."
