TrueNoord has delivered one brand new ATR42-600 to Afrijet Business Service – operating as FLYGABON.
The aircraft will be on a long-term operating lease and with this delivery, Afrijet Business Service completes its fleet transition from a fleet of ATR-500s to the latest generation of turboprop aircraft.
“The arrival of our first ATR42-600 marks the latest milestone in our ATR fleet modernisation strategy and our commitment to delivering an elevated and more reliable travel experience to our passengers," said Afrijet Business Service/FLYGABON managing director Nyl Moret-Mba. "Both the aircraft ordered in 2024 and the additional one will fly under the FLYGABON livery – the national flag carrier launched last year to support the Gabonese government’s vision for stronger regional connectivity and inclusive economic development across the country.”
It is also the first ATR equipped with Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127XT engines in TrueNoord’s fleet of turboprop aircraft, regional and crossover jets.
Afrijet Business Service said this aircraft will mainly fly domestic routes within Gabon, with the ability to serve remote destinations.
