BNP Paribas has closed the first ever financing of an Airbus A380-800 aircraft in Japanese Yen.
With the support of the Export Credit Agencies, Thai Airways took delivery of its first A380-800 aircraft on September 26, 2012.
The Thai Airways A380 aircraft is fitted with Rolls-Royce Trent engines, and configured in 12 First Class, 60 Business Class and 435 Economy Class seating.
Thai Airways is a founding member of the Star Alliance.
The Yen financing makes sense for Thai Airways which collects a great deal of revenue in Yen thanks to its Japanese routes, making this deal a natural hedge for the airline.
