TAP Portugal has introduced its tenth Airbus A330neo to its fleet; as well as launching new destinations.
The airline has been active in its perusal of a an overhaul of its current fleet which the shareholders see as strategic pillars for the airline’s transformation and modernisation, a statement said.
TAP Airbus A330neo annually contributes more than €24 million in duties and taxes to the Portuguese economy, the airline says. Each aircraft generates, on average, more than 650 jobs in Portugal per year, 85% of which are in the tourism industry.
Elsewhere, TAP has launched flights to Chicago and increased operations between the Portuguese capital of Lisbon and San Francisco, five times a week, both routes operated by the Airbus A330neo.
The airline also opened a route from Lisbon to Washington, five times a week.
In addition, TAP will also begin to operate seven flights a week to Tenerife.
