Portugal’s TAP recorded an increase in traffic during 2024, with passenger numbers up by 1.6% in comparison to the year prior. In total the airline served 16.1 million passengers over the 12-month period
The Portuguese flag carrier recorded its largest growth in passenger traffic on routes to North America, which increased by 8.9% in comparison to 2023.
Elsewhere, traffic to Brazil and Europe increased during the year by 7.1% and 0.9% respectively when compared the year prior. Traffic to Africa saw a minimal reduction of 0.1%.
Over the year TAP recorded an average load factor of 82.3% across its network, a 1.5 percentage point increase from the previous year. Seat supply, measured in available seat kilometres (ASK), rose by 1.6%, while revenue per seat, measured in revenue passenger kilometres (RPK), grew by 3.4%.
