Sun PhuQuoc Airways has signed a long-term lease agreement with Air Lease for one new A321-200neo aircraft, which is scheduled to be delivered in 2027.

The news comes just days before the commercial launch of Sun PhuQuoc Airways, Vietnam’s newest airline, which is set to take place on November 1.

Describing itself as the world’s first “resort airline”, Sun PhuQuoc Airways aims to connect the island of Phu Quoc with the rest of Vietnam and the world.

Initial routes will connect Phu Quoc with Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang. The airline will also operate the key domestic routes of Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang.

The airline's network will expand from December 2025, with additional routes from Hanoi to Da Nang and Cam Ranh to Phu Quoc.

The airline has already taken delivery of its first three aircraft, including A321NX and A321CEO models, out of a total of eight aircraft planned for operation in 2025.

The fleet will be expanded to 25 aircraft by the end of 2026 and 30-35 aircraft by 2027.
