Sukhoi confirms SSJ-100 sales to Vietnam

Russia's Deputy Industry and Trade Minister, Viktor Evtukhov, has confirmed that Sukhoi will supply Vietnam with its SSJ 100-95 regional jets.

Speaking at the sidelines of the 17th session of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee for Economic, Commercial, Scientific, and Technological Cooperation in Vladivostok, Evtukhov told Russian media that the aircraft would be sold to national carrier, Vietnam Airlines, and LCC VietJetAir.

Evtukhov did not reveal how many aircraft had been sold or when they would be delivered.

Sukhoi also recently announced it would sell a total of thirteen new SSJ 100-95s to Laos and Indonesia, as the Russian government has moved to revitalise domestic aircraft production by doubling production of the Sukhoi Superjet from 25 to 50 per year beginning in 2015.
