ST Aerospace signs 757-200SF 15-Pallet Freighter Conversion Contract With SF Airlines

ST Aerospace and SF Airlines have signed a contract for five 757-200SF passenger-to-freighter (PTF) conversions, with an option for three more aircraft. The new 757-200SF freighters will have a 15-pallet cargo configuration. The first aircraft will be inducted in ST Aerospace’s facilities at Seletar Aerospace Park in early January 2014 and is scheduled to be redelivered to SF Airlines by the end of the third quarter in 2014. This contract award was included in the 4Q2013 orders announced in January.

The 15-pallet PTF solution is part of a 757-200SF development programme that ST Aerospace has launched in early 2013, of which it will be applying for Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, European Aviation Safety Agency, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the PTF conversion.

This STC is based on Boeing’s production freighter as well as ST Aerospace’s existing FAA-approved 14-pallet STC for 757-200 PTF conversions, which is also the only STC developed, based on Boeing’s licensed passenger and freighter data.

“ST Aerospace is a trustworthy MRO partner with a proven track record in 757-200 passenger-to-freighter conversions. The cooperation on freighters conversion between two companies will give a significant boost to our current delivery capabilities. We currently operate up to 14 self-owned aircraft and we see a strong potential in the cargo market. We intend to continue expanding our fleet in order to cater to the increasing demand.”
