Spirit sells 29 Airbus jets to Gryphon

US carrier Spirit Airlines is to sell 29 of its Airbus aircraft to an affiliate of lessor Gryphon Aviation.

According to the terms of the deal, the unencumbered Airbus A319ceo aircraft, which are powered by V2500 engines, are to go to Gryphon Trading Company, an affiliate of Gryphon Aviation Leasing.

The aircraft will be financed by Aviator Capital Management through Aviator Capital Fund V. Delivery is scheduled to run from the first quarter of 2023 to the end of the third quarter of the following year.

“We are pleased to be working with Spirit Airlines on this transaction, and we look forward to a continued and successful partnership," said Steven Patch, chief executive of Gryphon Aviation Leasing, in a January 21 post on LinkedIn.
