Spirit Airlines is providing holders of its co-branded credit card with Bank of America with two free checked bags, starting this week. The perk can be applied to every Spirit trip booked with the card.
The perk only applies to the cardholder and not any guests travelling with the cardholder. The reservation must also be made directly with Spirit.
“Our most loyal guests know they get the greatest value when they choose Spirit, and now the Free Spirit Travel More Mastercard makes flying with us even more rewarding,” said Spirit Airlines SVP and chief customer officer Rana Ghosh.
The free bags have a weight limit of 50lbs (22.7kg) each and cardholders can use the benefit to check items such as golf clubs, skis, and snowboards — provided they meet checked baggage requirements.
Spirit had upgraded its Free Spirit loyalty programme in May, expanding its redemption options, providing complimentary upgrades, as well as allowing guests to earn points through the Free Spirit debit card.
