Latvian based operator SmartLynx Airlines and member of the Avia Solutions Group carried 1.11 million passengers during the month of July – the highest amount carried by the airline in a single month.
The ACMI, cargo and charter service operator provided flight capacity services to carriers in Europe and Southeast Asia such as IndiGo and TUI – completing 6689 flights during the month, a 42% increase from the same month in the previous year.
“At the start of the year, we predicted that passenger demand for air travel would surpass pre-pandemic levels for the first time, and our forecasts have proven accurate,” said Edvinas Demenius, CEO at SmartLynx Airlines.
Demenius continued: “Market growth would be even more significant if the industry did not lack resources like crew and technical specialists and the availability of spare parts. Judging by the circumstances, we believe that airline costs will increase next year.”
During the month SmartLynx provided services to over 172 airports around the world.
