SmartLynx Airlines, a Latvian cargo and charter provider and lessor that last year marked 30 years of operations, has appointed industry veteran Ian Davies as vice president of technical.
"We are delighted to welcome our new vice president of Technical, signalling our dedication to further improving our technical reliability. We are confident that the new VP of Technical will help us to achieve the highest standards of safety and client satisfaction," said chief executive Zygimantas Surintas.
Davies has worked in aviation for four decades, and, Smartlynx said, and has held "various influential roles at well-known companies such as EasyJet and BMI British Midland Airways".
"SmartLynx has experienced tremendous growth over the past year, and I am proud to be a part of the team that has enabled the airline to take the ACMI service to the next level," said Davies.
