Sino Jet has signed a definitive procurement contract for 50 units of the AE200 eVTOL aircraft from Aerofugia, a major Chinese manufacturer of electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles.
The agreement builds on an existing partnership between the two companies that was first launched in 2023, when Sino Jet signed a letter of intent (LOI) to acquire 100 units of AE200 aircraft.
Li Yuanfeng, group president of Sino Jet, said the Hong Kong-based corporate jet operator is looking to the AE200 to usher in a “paradigm shift” in business travel.
Sino Jet believes the AE200 will be the first aircraft to connect commercial centres in China through low-altitude travel using eVTOL technology.
“Looking forward, regulatory framework advancement and infrastructure maturation will catalyse the accelerated development of a comprehensive low-altitude transportation network linking core commercial districts, transportation nodes, and integrated urban clusters," said Li.
“Building upon this foundation, Sino Jet will persist in driving industry innovation, collaborating to inaugurate a new era in China's low-altitude economy, delivering unprecedented temporal value and mobility experiences for our clientele.”
