Anticipating strong passenger demand, Singapore Airlines (SIA) is planning to increase its capacity across Asia and Australia in 2023. The airline plans to resume its Singapore-Busan route in South Korea in June 2023. For Australian destinations, SIA will plan to resume Singapore-Melbourne service after four years and twice daily flights to Sydney from May 2023.
SIA will cut down on its frequency on the Singapore-Manchester-Houston route from four times a week to three weekly services from March 2023, while adding twice weekly flights between Singapore and Manchester from April 2023.
JoAnn Tan, senior vice president marketing planning at Singapore Airlines, said: “Looking ahead to 2023, we see stronger demand for flights to destinations across southeast Asia, parts of east Asia and Australia. As we restore our network to these regions closer to pre-pandemic levels, our customers have even more flight options.”
The airline expects to cross the pre-pandemic flight frequency to multiple Asian destinations like Bangkok, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Taiwan, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, as well as Fukuoka, Nagoya and Osaka in Japan by March 2024.
