Private carrier, SaudiGulf Airlines, has launched its scheduled services on October 29 with two daily flights from Dammam to capital Riyadh, operated by A320 aircraft.
The airline will begin two daily flights to Jeddah starting from November 27, with a first international flight from Dammam to Dubai, UAE, planned for the first quarter of 2017.
Tariq Bin Abdelhadi Al Qahtani, the chairman of the board of SaudiGulf Airlines said: "The airline will offer a new level of service in the kingdom, whereby passengers will experience quality and comfort based on the essence of true Saudi Arabian hospitality throughout the entire travel Journey, from booking, to check-in to the experience onboard."
The airline plans to launch flights between Riyadh and Jeddah with up to seven connections daily in the first quarter of 2017.
“The airline will inspire businesses and businessmen alike in the kingdom to develop similar initiatives to better serve the citizens and residents of the nation, with the support of the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” he added.
Al Qahtani said that the “primary reason behind the launch of the airline is to meet the increasing demand for air transport services in the kingdom, due to the rapid growth of the Saudi Arabian economy."
SaudiGulf Airlines plans to increase its current fleet of four A320s by the end of 2017.
