The Saudia Group has signed a 13-year agreement with Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) for the support and service of 86 GE90 engines, which power Saudia’s 777 fleet at its Paris Charles de Gaulle and Orly facilities.
Signed at the Paris Air Show, the agreement builds on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in Riyadh in December 2024 during the state visit of French president Emmanuel Macron.
Under this long-term partnership, AFI KLM E&M will provide comprehensive engine support including performance analytics, predictive maintenance solutions through on-wing services and field support. The company said these services are designed to maintain optimal engine performance and reduce aircraft downtime.
Ibrahim Al-Omar, director general of the Saudia Group, said the agreement marks a “significant step” in strengthening the technical backbone of the group’s long-haul operations. He added: “It also complements our broader strategy to localise maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities and build long-term value for the Kingdom."
This agreement will support Saudia’s transformation strategy and long-haul network expansion.
