Three new airlines are planned for launch in Saudi Arabia to join established players Saudia, flynas, flyadeal and Riyad Air.
Fahd Hamidaddin, CEO of the Saudi Tourism Authority, announced plans for the three airlines at a recent conference in the region. One airline would be Dammam low‑cost carrier, based at King Fahd International Airport, which will serve domestic and international routes, with a fleet of 45 aircraft. There will also be a Medina religious‑tourism airline designed to streamline journeys to the holy city. And a third airline yet to be disclosed.
The airlines form part of the broader strategy to transform the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia into a global centre for technology, tourism, and trade.
