SAS will operate a new service between Copenhagen and Mumbai next year, marking the airline’s return to India after a 17-years hiatus.
Starting June 2, 2026, the Scandinavian airline will operate five weekly flights to the Indian city, operated by an A330.
SAS had previously operated a route between Copenhagen and Delhi, which was reopened in October 2008 after being suspended since 2002. At the beginning of 2009, the airline announced that it would suspend services to India once again at the start of the upcoming summer season, with the possibility of reopening the route later that year.
The airline stated that this new Mumbai service will facilitate passenger transfers to flights bound for North America, including destinations such as New York, Boston, and Toronto
This new route is subject to final governmental approval.
