SAS and Virgin Atlantic enter codeshare agreement

SAS and Virgin Atlantic have entered a new codeshare agreement, which will aim to strengthen connections to and from Scandinavia.

The new agreement will allow passengers travelling with the SAS to connect through Virgin Atlantic’s bases at London Heathrow (LHR) and Manchester (MAN).

"We are very pleased to launch this new codeshare partnership with Virgin Atlantic, expanding SAS’s global reach and offering our customers even more travel options to new and exciting destinations such as Barbados, Jamaica, and Antigua, with additional destinations to be introduced later,” said Paul Verhagen, chief commercial officer at SAS.

Following SAS’ formal enrolment into SkyTeam on September 1, 2024 - of which Virgin Atlantic is the only UK airline - SAS EuroBonus members will receive instant earning and redeeming opportunities when travelling on Virgin Atlantic.

Juha Jarvinen, chief commercial officer at Virgin Atlantic, commented further: “We’re delighted to launch a codeshare with our SkyTeam partners at SAS, enhancing our connectivity and offering greater customer benefits to our frequent flyers, who will be able to achieve rewards faster.  As a fellow APEX five-star airline, we look forward to strengthening our partnership with SAS as we continue to broaden our global network.”

The codeshare agreement will come into effect from October 7, 2024.
