LCC Ryanair has the challenged state aid packages, such as the €1.2 billion secured by TAP ,and multi-billion euro deal given to Air France-KLM, in the European Court of Justice, according to Portuguese media outlet Lusa.
The most recent appeal lodged by the airline against European Commission’s authorisation for state aid to aviation was referred to the general court on July 22, according to information seen by Lusa, which Ryanair confirmed.
Ryanair’s has made a total of six appeals according to Lusa, one relating to TAP, others cover Finnair and SAS, according to Lusa. All six appeals have so far failed by the process is not yet exhausted, the ECJ typically takes 12 months to reach a decision, after which both parties have two months to appeal, and if there is an additional hearing.
