Rwanda gov’t signs bilateral agreement with Germany

The Rwandan government has signed a new bilateral air services agreement with Germany after successfully completing negotiations on mutual access by airlines from each country to the other.

Presently there are no direct flights between the two countries, so all flights have to use intermediate hubs to connect to Rwanda or Germany. Last week Rwandair submitted a new strategic plan to the Rwandan government in which flights to Europe are forecast by around 2017/18.

RwandAir is planning to acquire at least two wide-body aircraft which upon will allow it to expand long-haul flights in addition to boosting its regional fleet for services across Africa.
