Qatar Airways seeks to resume Doha-Cardiff route

Qatar Airways has submitted a slot request to UK Airport Coordination for flights to Cardiff Airport. The airline has requested four weekly slots at the airport, beginning on December 18, 2023. If approved, the route would operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, between Qatar Airways' hub at Hamad International Airport (DOH) and Cardiff Airport. Flights are expected to be operated by Boeing 787.

Discussions between Qatar Airways and Cardiff Airport (CWL) have been ongoing in recent months but as of now no official announcement of the route launch is out.

Qatar Airways first flew to Cardiff in May 2018, and operated the service for just under two years before temporary halting the service due to pandemic.

This route will mark Qatar’s sixth destination in UK along with Birmingham, London Heathrow, Manchester, London Gatwick and Edinburg.
